Ali Wong, Asians and Eyeglasses

I cannot find anyone who is more blunt than Ali Wong in the entire Asian universe. Besides all the explicit details on the closeup personal life level, being 100% politically incorrect (or -100% politically correct), is there a ultimate purpose behind all these?

I love Ali. She is one of the Asian girls who unapologetically spells out every single anger, confusion and problems in her life (makes us laugh our heads off AND makes money out of it), blames it all on our differences as the same time being proud of who we are. Hey, a big part of being Asians.

We know who we are. We understand exactly how we are different. We take advantage of it. This is exactly how we come up with the idea of W1 Style.

As Asians, buying the right pair of glasses in good quality, reasonable priced which fit well is more difficult then passing the SAT or finding future husbands.

W1 imagines to make Asians’ life a little easier by offering a particular product for Asians and Asians ONLY. It is an East meets East encounter that take place in the West. Asians need Asian design sunglasses and eyeglasses. Most of the companies focus on the fit but for us a product made for Asians is everything to do with the concept, the design, the feel, the spirit and the understanding of the particular needs of Asian life style.

Ali has the perfect glasses for her beautiful facial features. Round face, flat nose bridge, eyes position perfectly in the centre of her eyes. And red? Works perfectly with her skin tone. She does always have the perfect pair!

W1 celebrates being Asians. It is crazy to be Asians. Yes, we try to build a business out of flat round noses, flat faces, tiny eyes and wide heads.
